November 30: Wisut Artjanawat of Thailand was all smiles when he picked up the Players’ Player of the Year award at the Mercedes-Benz Tour gala evening in Bangkok’s Radisson Hotel.

The 27-year-old Wisut finished in the top 10 in all six tournaments he played on the nine-event calendar, including victories in the Mercedes-Benz Masters Philippines in May and last month’s Mercedes-Benz Masters Vietnam.

"I did not expect to win the award and I am surprised to do so," he said. "This shows how well I played this year on the Mercedes-Benz Tour.”

Thailand's Pariya Junhasavasdikul, who only turned professional in March, won the Rising Star award after his triumph in last month’s Mercedes-Benz Masters Singapore.

Chia Takes Chequered Flag

Bangkok, November 30: Danny Chia completed an impressive wire-to-wire victory in the US$75,000 Mercedes-Benz Masters Thailand today giving himself a belated birthday present.

 

The Malaysian, who turned 36 yesterday, fired a final round even-par 72 for a two stroke victory over compatriot S. Sivachandran and Thailand’s Nakul Vichitryuthasastr at The Vintage Club in Bangkok.

 

Sivachandran shot a 66 while Nakul came in with a 69.

Chia in Cruise Control

Bangkok, November 29: Malaysia’s Danny Chia closed in on his first title of the year today after another fine round in the Mercedes-Benz Masters Thailand.

 

The 36 year old fired a third-round three-under-par 69 to maintain a four stroke lead at The Vintage Club in Bangkok.

 

Thailand’s Atthaphon Prathummanee is in second place after returning the same score while a stroke further back is his countryman Nakul Vichitryuthasastr.

 

Chia has led the US$75,000 tournament since the first round and would have been further ahead if he had not double bogeyed the final hole where he found water.

Danny Races Ahead

Bangkok, November 28:Danny Chia extended his lead to four strokes at the halfway mark of the US$75,000 Mercedes-Benz Masters Thailand today.

 

He shot a one-under-par 71 for a four-round aggregate of nine-under-par 135 at The Vintage Club in Bangkok.

 

In joint second place are Atthaphon Prathummanee  and Pavit Tangkamolprasert  from Thailand and Filipino Anthony Lascuna.

 

Atthaphon carded a 72, Pavit a 70 while Lascuna shot 69 in what is the season-ending Tour Championship.

Chia in Charge in Mercedes-Benz Masters

Bangkok, November 27: Malaysia’s Danny Chia carded one of his best rounds this year to take the first round lead the US$75,000 Mercedes-Benz Masters Thailand today at The Vintage Club near Bangkok.

 

He shot an eight-under-par 64 for a three stoke over Atthaphon Prathummanee from Thailand, in what is the season ending Tour Championship on the Mercedes-Benz Tour.

 

Thailand’s Wisut Artjanwat, who needs to win or finished outright second to overtake Filipino Angelo Que at the top of the Order of Merit, carded a 68 along with compatriot Aphichart Papitak, who is an amateur.
