Antonio Lascuna has been something of a late developer as a professional golfer. He enjoyed a sterling amateur career and reached the pinnacle of the game in Southeast Asia by winning his country’s amateur championship in 1993 and shortly after gold medals in both the Putra Cup and Southeast Asian Games.
He turned professional in 1997 and although he plundered the local tour and won over 18 titles there it was not until the last few seasons that he made his mark overseas. He claimed the Selangor Masters on the Malaysian Tour in 2007 and on the Mercedes-Benz Tour and Asian Tour has earned the reputation as a nearly man.
In 2009 he finished second in both the Mercedes-Benz Masters Malaysia and Singha Pattaya Open while on the Asian Tour in 2007 he was second in the Iskandar Open and third in the Brunei Open.
