Pariya Junhasavasdikul toppled local hero Lam Chih Bing from Singapore to win the Mercedes-Benz Masters Singapore in 2008.
Pariya, who started the final round four shots behind Lam in second place, fired a three-under-par 69 for a two shot victory over his Singaporean opponent.
It was his first victory as a professional which was made extra special as his parents were at the event plus across the road at Tanah Merah Country Club 17-year-old Vasin Sripattranusorn lifted the Singapore Amateur Open trophy
Pariya turned professional in March of 2008 after having spent four years at Purdue University in America.
