Thai teen titan Kiradech Aphibarnrat showed he is a star of the future with a runaway 11-stroke victory in Singha Pattaya Open in 2009.
The hugely talented 19 year old became the youngest winner on the Mercedes-Benz Tour with a final round 67 for a 23-under-par total of 261 at Burapha Golf Club.
Kiradech, a former world junior champion, left a strong field in his wake with an assured display that belied his years.
He sealed the title with his emphatic 61 in the third round. It was the second time that Kiradech had shot 61 on the Mercedes-Benz Tour.
In his first professional outing in December 2007, Kiradech finished in sixth place at the Singha E San Open thanks to his 61 in the final round at Nongkhai, Thailand.
Kiradech, hewn from the same rock as his sturdily built countrymen Chapchai Nirat and Prom Meesawat, showed his star potential during a fine amateur career with runner-up finishes in both the Putra Cup and SEA Games.
He made steady progress in his first full year as a professional in 2008 and was runner-up in the B-ing Championship (Thailand) on the Mercedes-Benz Tour
The talented youngster continued his golf education by winning his cards for both the 2009 Japan and Asian Tours at their qualifying schools.
